Trenton Corley named Head Football Coach of the Quitman Bulldogs

Quitman, AR, January 5, 2026—Quitman Public School District Superintendent and Athletic Director Michael Stacks announced the hiring of Trenton Corley as the Head Football Coach of the Quitman Bulldogs for the ‘26 Season. Coach Corley will assume duties effective January 6, 2026. Corley becomes only the sixth head varsity coach in the history of 2A & 3A Quitman Football; he follows legendary and long-time Head Football & Boy’s Track Coach DJ Marrs who mentored Assistant Corley for 8 seasons.

Mr. Stacks says, “What an exceptional hire for Quitman Schools! Trenton Corley is a highly respected coach and teacher with extraordinary character, work ethic, strong morals and a drive to win. He has a proven record of outstanding success having served alongside Head Coach DJ Marrs for many years, the two leading our teams to the state football playoffs every year and earning five boys track and field state championships. Trenton is committed to growing our students by continuing our tradition of excellence, discipline, and competitiveness with a strong academic focus. I, along with our board, staff and student athletes could not be more thrilled to bring Trenton Corley and his family home to Quitman! Go Dawgs!”

Trenton Corley and his wife Alexa have been married for seven years and are parents to a beautiful daughter, 18 month old Lottie.  He’s originally from Bismarck, Arkansas, and spent last season as assistant football coach in the Beebe School District.  Coach Corley says, “I am so excited to be coming back to a program, school and community that I love. Quitman has the best administration and community support in the state!  I learned so much from my time at Quitman under Coach Marrs. He taught me how to build a football program that prioritizes youth programs to positively impact varsity athletics, and I learned the importance of having a program that students take pride in and want to be part of. Quitman has amazing student athletes that I cannot wait to reunite with. There’s a reason Quitman has been one of the fastest growing districts in AR, and I’m very excited to be part of it again; I look forward to leading our athletes to the next level of competitiveness on the field and being part of the district’s overall success.”

Coach Corley has a Master’s Degree in history from Arkansas Tech University and will be teaching concurrent history courses for the district in addition to his coaching duties.
